caveat: Spoilers for Fallout Season 1 and Season 2 follow.
Fallout season 1 has been rife with speculation and theories, with fans currently wondering about everything from the snake oil salesman's mysterious serum to the Brotherhood of Steel's airship. But one thing we do know for sure about him is that season 2 will be set in New Vegas, the setting of the popular video game Fallout: New Vegas.
In a new interview with GQ, co-showrunners Graham Wagner and Geneva Robertson-Dworet bounce around various fan theories that surfaced after Fallout's release on Prime Video, but lore enthusiasts He has said enough things to draw the blood of the people.
Let's start with New Vegas, where Season 2 takes place. As fans have noticed, the show reveals what appears to be an abandoned New Vegas, but this is not the state of the location at the end of the events of the video game New Vegas. Remember where we are on the timeline here. This TV show is set in the year 2296, a nod to all the Fallout video games. Fallout 4 is set in his year 2287, while Fallout: New Vegas is set in his year 2281, a full 15 years before the events of the show.
So what happened in the 15 years since we last saw New Vegas? That's exactly what Wagner and Robertson-Dworet were asked in their interview. In response, the two confirmed that the setting had indeed changed, and explained why it was important for fans to note.
“What we really want viewers to know is that things happened so that there is no expectation that we will pick up the show in season 2 following one of the myriad canon endings that depend on the choices you make when playing.” That's all. [Fallout: New Vegas]” Wagner said.
“With that post-credits thing, I wanted to imply, folks, that the world is progressing and the idea that the wilderness will stay the way it is for decades is ridiculous to us. It's a place [of] A constant stream of tragedies, events, and horrors – a constant stream of trauma. We definitely suggest there was more going on. ”
So, it's clear that New Vegas has changed, but what happens when Kyle MacLachlan's power-armored Overseer Hank shows up (perhaps after a dust-up with the Deathclaws)? Mr. House, the mysterious ruler of New Vegas in the video game and the dastardly boss of Robco Industries in the TV show's pre-bomb flashbacks, enlists Hank's help in restoring New Vegas to its former glory. Some people speculate that they may be looking for . Perhaps, if the story goes as planned, Mr. House and the forces of New Vegas will end up battling the Brotherhood of Steel in yet another Fallout faction battle, with Lucy, Maximus, and The Ghoul caught in the middle. It will be.
Elsewhere in the interview, Wagner and Robertson-Dworet were seen revealing Vault Tech's plan to first launch a nuclear weapon during a flashback segment of the show, specifically a meeting with rival company leaders. It has been confirmed that there will be further developments, including revelations about a shadowy figure. . As for who fired the first shot, some believe that the suggestion that Vault-Tec started World War I is misguided, but there are still many stories to be told in this regard. It seems that.
“Again, I wouldn't treat anything as definitive because everything we see is very subjective,” Wagner said. “There was that scene. But what happens between that moment and when the bomb actually drops… there's something much more exciting planned between that moment and the final moment. Maybe I should say that.”
