The proposed constitutional amendment, known as the Fourth Amendment, would allow abortions up to about 24 weeks into pregnancy, similar to what Florida law allowed until Gov. Ron DeSantis enacted a 15-week abortion ban in 2022. The content is acceptable.
On May 1, DeSantis' six-week abortion ban became law. At that point, many women and girls do not even know that they are pregnant.
History has proven that people will continue to need access to abortion. Desperation leads to back-alley and dangerous solutions.
I'm a senior citizen, so I remember reading about those horrific stories over 50 years ago.
If you are a young person, you may not understand the pain and harm that both women and girls have suffered until you have safe options when making very difficult personal decisions. yeah.
Books like “Looking for Jane'' and “Philomena Leigh's Lost Child'' remind us of the other side of the story. Some women have been forced to give birth or give up on adoptions because of the religious views of others. Sadly, art imitates life, often painfully so.
On Election Day, November 5th, please vote “4 Yes'' to end the six-week ban and allow our fellow citizens to make decisions about their own bodies without government intervention. If you support less government, vote yes on the 4th Amendment.

Please stand back, Council.
The Florida Legislature needs to remove itself from our medical care and medical records.
Lawmakers should unchain doctors so they can fearlessly prescribe appropriate painkillers to people with chronic and acute pain. Millions of Floridians live with chronic and acute pain that Advil and Tylenol cannot control.
I understand that during the “pill mill” crisis, adjustments were definitely needed and those pill mills had to be shut down. I was someone who wrote for that cause, fought for it, and picketed in the streets for it.
The pill mills were shut down, and now things are going in the complete opposite direction.
Doctors are afraid to prescribe appropriate painkillers, and now lawmakers are getting involved in women's health and scaring doctors who provide treatment. Do whatever you want.
The Florida government needs to delete our medical records and turn our care over to medical professionals.

Impact of abortion ban
An unwanted child is often an unloved child.
We know that this often leads to anger, aggression, drugs, and incarceration.
All four of these create stress on society and its resources. Now that Florida has enacted a six-week abortion ban, what are the provisions for caring for the unwanted children many women are forced to bear?
Is the state of Florida going to care for, feed, educate, and love these children?

What a wonderful juxtaposition.
Read David Ellenberg's letter to the editor criticizing President Joe Biden for not speaking out on campus protests, and what should be covered in the news, but Biden's criticism of campus violence and denounced anti-Semitism.
The president unequivocally condemned both as having no place in our country. I hope this sends a message to people like Ellenberg that Biden is not sympathetic to the anti-Semitism and violence that is taking place on these campuses.
Peaceful protests are part of democracy, but what some protesters did is not democracy.
