Netflix has released a trailer for Atlas, the upcoming sci-fi movie starring Jennifer Lopez, and fans of the Titanfall video game series are noticing many similarities between the two films.
The two-minute trailer shows Lopez's Atlas Shepard escaping certain death in a giant mech similar to the one seen in Titanfall, and more specifically features the campaign for the first time. This is the sequel. The concept wasn't necessarily new at the time of Titanfall 2's release, but fans found it to be a “very clear” call to action for the game.
Reddit user dravacotron pointed these out. In one line from the Netflix movie's trailer, the mecha Smith tells pilot Atlas, “My main protocol is to keep you alive.” The scene in Titanfall 2 where the pilot properly meets the mecha has the line “Protocol 3: Protect the pilot.”
Another iconic scene from Titanfall 2 sees the Mech BT telling pilot Jack Cooper to trust him before he throws him through a giant gap, a similar line shown in the Atlas trailer. It has been. ”
The film is also a tale of the deepening bond between a mech and a pilot thrust into the unexpected realm of a dangerous otherworld, which is also the overall plot of Titanfall 2.
LapsedVerneGagKnee says, “I'm about 70% sure this is a rejected Titanfall script.” “It literally looks like a parody. How did you manage that?” he asked sunboy4224. Agiantgrunt quoted a famous meme. “Mom, could you please bring me the Titanfall movie? We have a Titanfall movie.”
Titanfall fans have been eagerly awaiting a new entry into the series, which has been virtually dormant since Titanfall 2 released in 2016. Apex Legends, the popular battle royale, is set in the same world, but the story and lore of the second game is largely forgotten. I like it very much.
IGN said in a 9/10 review, “The long-awaited single-player campaign brings the soothing mobility of Titanfall 2 to a vast platform playground.”
