Ronan Murphy, a member of Ireland's AI Advisory Board, said the startup, which he co-founded in 2021, has more than 300 customers in 40 countries.
As our world becomes more interconnected and reliant on digital technology, the need for robust cybersecurity has never been greater. Last year was a record year for global data breaches, according to multiple reports, and that number is expected to increase as the tools used to carry out cyberattacks become more sophisticated.
“Data breaches are a constant threat, and businesses often lack the resources to effectively manage their sprawling data environments,” entrepreneur Ronan Murphy told SiliconRepublic.com. Masu. “They find it difficult to identify and classify sensitive information, leaving them vulnerable.”
Murphy is the co-founder of Irish cybersecurity startup Getvisibility, which helps businesses of all sizes identify, classify and protect sensitive data.
“Getvisibility is a leading AI company specializing in data security posture management. We bridge the gap. [cybersecurity] “There is a huge gap for powerful AI-powered solutions that provide a comprehensive and automated approach to data security and compliance,” he explains.
“Our AI engine not only excels at traditional data security tasks, but also addresses the new critical need of protecting sensitive data generated by generative AI applications within organizations.”
background
Murphy is also the founder and chairman of another London-listed cybersecurity firm, Smarttech247, whose clients include many Fortune 500 companies. The company, led by CEO Raluca Sasseanu, today (May 20) announced its latest partnership with UK-based software company Egress.
Due to his knowledge and application of advances in artificial intelligence technology in cybersecurity, Murphy is also a member of the government's AI Advisory Board.
“Our focus on generative AI applications positions Getvisibility at the forefront of a rapidly evolving market segment,” he continues. “As enterprises increasingly adopt generative AI, robust data security becomes paramount. Our AI-powered solutions are ideally suited to address this challenge and present significant growth opportunities.” Masu.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Brosnan has extensive experience in software development, specializing in scalable systems and cloud computing. He has a strong background in AI and machine learning and has founded and led major technology companies including Xanadu.
Murphy and Brosnan are both from Cork (where Getvisibility is headquartered) and met there “through a combination of industry conferences, mutual professional networks and joint projects”.
“[Our] Our shared passion and complementary skill sets for solving complex data security challenges naturally led to the creation of Getvisibility,” said Murphy.
There is no easy task
Getvisibility now has more than 300 customers in 40 countries, and Murphy says the startup is making “fantastic” progress thanks to strong demand for its solutions, a rapidly growing team, and encouraging feedback from clients. It states that
The company raised €10 million in Series A funding in March 2022 to accelerate growth in key markets. This comes less than a year after Eir raised more than €2 million in a round led by former CEO Herb Hribar.
“Our ultimate goal is to be the world's leading provider of AI-driven data security solutions, enabling organizations to protect their data from data loss, insider threats, and advanced cyber threats.” he says. “We aim to set a new standard in data protection and enable businesses to operate securely and confidently in the digital age.”
However, any venture in the cybersecurity field is not without its unique challenges. These include the implementation of complex technology in the face of a highly dynamic environment and the scarcity of human resources.
“Challenges we have faced include staying ahead of rapidly evolving cyber threats, managing complex global data protection regulations, and scaling technology to meet the demands of a growing customer base. Attracting and retaining top talent in a highly competitive industry is also an ongoing effort,” says Murphy.
“Our regional startup scene is vibrant and dynamic, supported by a strong ecosystem of investors, incubators and networks. We have a wealth of talent and innovative talent driving significant advances in technology and business. But competition is fierce and continued innovation and adaptability are essential to success.
