Pardee Sports Medicine today announced its annual initiative to conduct sports physical exams for local student-athletes attending 19 middle schools and high schools in the surrounding area. All physicals will be held in each high school gymnasium from May 7th to May 29th. State law requires all student-athletes to undergo an annual medical exam for health and safety reasons if they play sports at their school.
“Our number one concern is the safety of our student-athletes in all sports,” said Dwayne Durham, Purdy Director of Sports Medicine. “The convenience of providing sports physical exams in a friendly environment benefits student-athletes and their families alike.”
Registration forms for player physicals are available from each team's coach or school front office.
Each student-athlete scheduled for a sports physical on the scheduled date must bring a completed registration form signed by a parent or guardian. The cost per child varies depending on each school's operations. Parents will be notified via each school's website, newsletter, or email. Each health exam will be conducted by a certified health care provider, and the school will ensure student privacy during each health exam.
