Tracee Ellis Ross is packing her bags and inviting viewers on her solo travel adventures in her new Roku Original series, “Tracee Travels.”
The series is created by the award-winning actor (Girlfriends, Black-ish, and most recently, the Oscar-winning film American Fiction) and Pattern CEO and founder, who says, “I record the painstaking and sometimes ridiculous preparations I make,” and my solo trips to amazing places. ” The series is set to film later this year and will follow Ross as she “charts her own path, exploring the intersection of beauty, fashion, design, food, and culture at each stop.”
“The first time I traveled solo was when I was 22 years old. I decided a long time ago that I wasn't going to do what I wanted and not wait for life to come my way,” says Ross. “Since then, I have been traveling alone, and my luggage has increased!”
She continued: “I hope this show reminds people that they can live their lives with courage, find happiness, and be their whole selves and their best selves. Everyone has the right to have fun and be bold.”
The documentary series is produced by Ross' Joy Mill Entertainment and Artists First, with Ross and E. Brian Dobbins serving as executive producers. Adriana Ambriz and Caroline Soth will serve as co-executive producers. The series is directed by Olivia LaRoche, head of alternative originals at Roku Originals. Filming locations for the first season will be announced at a later date.
“No one travels like Tracee Ellis Ross, and when it comes to traveling solo in style, she's an expert at it,” adds Brian Tannenbaum, head of originals at Roku Media. “We can't wait to partner with Tracee, Joy Mill Entertainment and Artists First to take viewers on a once-in-a-lifetime journey and witness the joy of self-discovery and independence.”
“Tracee Travels” will debut exclusively on the Roku Channel in 2025.
