Going (formerly Scott's Cheap Flights)
I'm one of over 2 million people who subscribe to this must-have newsletter for great international airfare deals. Handpicked and vetted airfare alerts can save you up to 90%.
If you choose a free subscription, you'll be aware of deals within the continental U.S. and get access to only handpicked deals. Premium subscribers ($49/year) get access to domestic and international deals, while Elite members ($199/year) get access to premium economy, business, and first class deals. All free and paid subscribers can customize their preferred departure airport.
Airfare Watchdog
Not only does the company search over 20,000 airline routes for deals, it also finds deals on airlines like Allegiant and Southwest (which many others don't do) and shares promo codes for deals on airline websites.
What makes Airfarewatchdog special is that it sends you price alerts for specific routes. You can choose to receive city-to-city alerts, departure city alerts (which show all the deals from that airport), or arrival city alerts (useful when friends and family are flying to one destination from multiple airports).
You can't book through Airfarewatchdog, but the site has details on how to find fares yourself.
Google Flights
I still love the ease of use of Google Flights. It's a great basic website to search for domestic and international airfares if you need to fly with a specific airline, if you need to take a direct flight, or if you have a multi-city trip (arriving in one city and departing from another). In other words, Google Flights has a ton of filters to show you custom results.
My advice: hit the reset button to the left of the date entry box often. Even if you find a good fare, hit reset again. The calendar will adjust and you might see an even cheaper fare.
