Chandigarh:
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Sunday said that the next government at the Center cannot be formed without the support of AAP.
He asserted that the Indian Bloc will win 120 to 125 of the 190 seats voted in the first two phases of the Sabah elections, and expressed confidence that the opposition coalition will come to power at the Center after the vote.
Mann also announced that he would meet AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on April 30 at Tihar Jail, where he is being held in a money laundering case related to the excise policy.
“AAP will be a partner in the (next) government. The next government cannot be formed without AAP's support,” the Punjab CM said.
Kejriwal's party is a member of the opposition India Bloc. However, Punjab is contesting the assembly polls on its own.
Addressing a rally in Barnala in support of AAP's Sangur candidate Gurmeet Singh Meet Khayer, Mann said the constituency was and will continue to be the AAP's “capital.”
He claimed that AAP chief Kejriwal cares deeply about Sangur and always asks about them.
“The last time I went to see him in prison, he first asked me about Sangrur. I told him that the next time I came to see him, I would tell him the truth. “If you look at the enthusiasm of the people here today, it's clear that we are beating Sangrur by a wide margin,” Mann said.
Hitting out at rival parties, Mann said the Shiromani Akali Dal, Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress have not been able to find candidates for the 13 Sabah seats in Punjab.
“Their leaders are refusing to participate in the elections because they know that defeat is certain. Their plight is the result of their misdeeds,” he said.
Listing the accomplishments of his two-year administration, Mann said, “We have made electricity free for 90% of households. We have already closed 14 toll plazas and provided economic relief to the people. The previous government extended the period. “It was,” he said. Take money and abolish toll booths. ”
He also claimed that the state government has arranged 11 hours of uninterrupted power every day for the farmer community.
“We have also provided canal water to around 60 per cent of the areas in Punjab to save electricity and groundwater. By October, this figure will increase to 70 per cent,” he said. Ta.
Meanwhile, Mann held a roadshow in support of party candidate Ashok Parashar Papi in Ludhiana on Sunday night.
Addressing a rally, he said Ludhiana was the “heart” of Punjab and “winning from here means winning the heart of Punjab”.
In the commercial, he refers to Ludhiana as 'Karanhoomi' and says that this is where he started his career as a comedian in 1991.
Mann said he has received very good response from all the places he visited during his campaigning and appealed to the people of Ludhiana to carry out 'broomsticks' on June 1 to ensure victory of the party's candidates. (Party symbol) button.
