The Last of Us season 2 will see Jeffrey Wright reprising his role as the video game villain.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the recently Oscar-nominated actor will officially return to the world of the fungal apocalypse as Isaac Dixon, his motion-captured character from the video game The Last of Us Part II.
HBO describes the character as “the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group whose search for freedom has led him to become embroiled in a never-ending war with a surprisingly resourceful enemy.”

In a previous interview with Total Film, Wright was tight-lipped when asked if he could star in a TV adaptation, saying: “Anything's possible. We'll see.”
Released in 2020, The Last of Us Part II takes place four years after the events of the original game, when Joel and Ellie's peaceful new life in their Wyoming community is shattered by violence, forcing the survivors to exact justice on the perpetrators.
Speaking about The Last of Us season 2 in an interview with Collider, co-creator Craig Mazin hinted that there will be differences between the game.

“Anyone who played the first game and then watched this season on TV can see that we're not afraid to do things we do in the game, we're not afraid to do things that we don't do in the game and we're not afraid to make major changes from the game,” he said.
“When it comes to the process of adaptation, we follow our hearts. Sometimes it's about faithfulness, sometimes it's about new creation.”
