The following mascots will be introduced as the storied Spirit program continues its storied history.
Scarlet and Black from Kamen Rider and Raider Reds will join the new faces for the 2024-25 season.
Energetic game day mascot Raider Red will have a new addition as graduating senior Holden Giacola continues the ceremonial tradition of handing over the guns to a new group.
“I can't think of a more energetic person to take on the role of Raider Red. , have done an exemplary job,” said Spirit Program Director Stephanie Lord.
“The Raider Red position requires a great deal of time and energy, and we feel this program will continue to be an even bigger part of connecting others to Texas Tech,” Lord said.
The Spirit Program's iconic Kamen Rider welcomes Ellie Brown as its 63rd rider.
Brown took the reins of the Centennial Champion from Lauren Bross on Friday (April 19).
Bloss did an exceptional job as a Kamen Rider during a season filled with uncertainty and many firsts for the Spirit program.
“I don't think I've ever worked with someone as patient as Lauren,” Lord said. “She faced so many challenges throughout the year, but she did it with grace.”
Brown, a native of Canyon, Texas, is majoring in animal science with an emphasis in pre-veterinary medicine. She has extensive knowledge about horses. She started her horseback riding at the age of 11 and then she spent many years cutting and training horses.
Brown joined the Spirit program last year as the handler for Bross' Centennial Champion.
“We are very excited to welcome Ellie as the 63rd Kamen Rider. Her background and demeanor make her a perfect fit as the new Kamen Rider,” Lord said.
Brown's connection to the Centennial Champion will definitely make her transition to Kamen Rider smoother.
“He's like a friend that I work with…he's got a big personality,” Brown said. “He loves being up close and personal with you. When you go out there, he laughs at you and wants to talk to you. He's a special horse.”
Brown comes from a long line of Red Raiders, starting with his late grandfather and continuing with his uncles, aunts, and parents.
Being a Kamen Rider is the culmination of the work ethic, experience, and character that Brown has demonstrated. Brown said there is a lot to look forward to as the journey begins.
“Football games and big crowds and everything else is so exciting, but the biggest role I want to play is for little girls and boys like me who wanted to look up and take pictures and be with the riders. “It’s about being with them,” he said. brown.
“That's what I want to be. Someone who is kind and can put little kids aside and say, 'Yeah, you can do it too.' You can get here. Just work hard and do that.” Develop your passion.”
