Freeland and Swan Valley split a Tri-Valley Conference softball doubleheader on Tuesday, with each relying on second-half fireworks to emerge victorious.
In the first game, Swan Valley scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to force overtime, and Freeland scored in the top of the eighth to win 15-14.
For the Falcons, Jessica Mayette had two RBIs and two hits, including a home run, and Jenna Kowalski and Madeline McDonald each added three hits. McDonald scored four points and Kowalski scored three.
Milagro Perez paced Swan Valley's offense with three hits and four RBIs, while Izzy Coffel scored four runs and hit a home run. Shiloh Charbonneau and Ashlyn Stockford added two hits and Grace Gilbert scored three runs.
In the second game, Swan Valley scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to break a 6-6 tie and win 11-6.
Coffel, Perez and Haley Koch each had two hits for the Vikings, and Perez and Koch each had two RBIs. Koch also took two steps.
Freeland scored three runs with three walks and a home run by Kowalski. Addie Steffen had two RBIs and three hits.

Michigan Lutheran Seminary 22-29, Flint Carman Ainsworth 7-11: After splitting a TVC doubleheader with Standish vs. Sterling on Monday, Seminary had an easy nonconference win against Flint Carman vs. Ainsworth on Tuesday. Ella Slangor scored six points in wins in both Carman and Ainsworth games. In those two games, Allie Coffey had nine RBIs on six hits, including three doubles and one home run. After striking out 26 batters on Monday, he struck out six more on Tuesday. Emily Raupichler added six hits and seven runs, and Vera DeLong had five runs and a home run.
Frankenmuth 14-12, Birch Run 0-2: Chloe Compau struck out 10, allowed two hits, had five RBIs, including a home run, and had three hits in the opening game win. Bry Barker, Peyton Schaffsnitz and Izzy Bernthal each added two hits, with Barker hitting his first home run on the national team. In the second game, Schaffsnitz led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, while Emma Sproul and Compau each added two hits and three RBIs. Compau won the second game with three hits and 10 strikeouts.
Sandusky 18-16, Vassar 0-1: Natalie Hoarlein had Vassar's only hit in the opener. In Game 2, Carly Fessler, Aubrey Fisher and Jordon Cain had hits for the Vulcans.

Brock Creek 10, Sanford Meridian 4: In the first game, Eli Olmstead had three hits and Reece Teer scored two runs to lead Meridian. The second game was tied at 7-7 at the end of the second inning, and was called as the game went dark.
Millington 4-3, Hemlock 2-10: Millington and Hemlock split a TVC doubleheader, with Truck Terbush giving Millington the win in the opening game with 6 innings, 9 strikeouts, 1 hit, and 1 run allowed. Logan Booby, who recorded the save, led Millington's attack with two hits and two RBIs. Matt Duty had two hits to lead Millington in the nightcap.
Midland High 10, Grand Blanc 9: Midland High School missed out on an SVL victory in the 10th inning when Tabor Edwards-Benner grounded out with the bases loaded. Grand Blanc took the lead in the 7th inning, but Kemix came back in the 7th, 8th, and 9th innings and won in the 10th. Midland's Brett Fazio started and pitched six innings, allowing two hits, one earned run, and six strikeouts. Jacoby Lind got the win in relief. Liam Heinz and Kayden Nieto each had three hits for the Chemixes, while Brady Vannest and Edwards Benner each added two hits.
