Ratalaika Games and Shinyuden have announced that Masaya's legendary “I Love Bikes! Hashiriya Con” (known as Rider's Spirits in the West) will be released on June 7th for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One & Series S|X, and Nintendo Switch.
To the uninitiated, this timeless cult classic looks heavily inspired by Mario Kart at first, but looks can be deceiving: the game features the ability to see what your competitors are doing, make pit stops to refuel and swap items, and more. It's simulator-style play, but just as fun.
The game features 20 different courses, including asphalt and dirt, each with its own unique design, where players must avoid obstacles such as traffic cones, ponds, stone pillars, etc. Each character in the game has their own skill set, and some stages are more difficult for certain characters, so players will need to master different techniques to stay at the top of the game.
Each bike and rider has its own unique characteristics and traits – some bikes are faster in a straight line, others have incredible grip, for example – find the bike-rider combination that suits you and take on the elusive number one spot.
Compete head-to-head against the computer or locally against friends on a variety of race tracks and game modes. Choose from a variety of wacky racers and show off your riding skills. And when the going gets tough, use all sorts of crazy items to get the advantage and cross the finish line first.
Riders GP: Race on multiple tracks and earn points based on your placement. The racer with the most points at the end will win the tournament.
Time Trial: Aim for the fastest time
Endurance Racing: Team up with two racers and try to stay in the lead for 1, 3 or 5 minutes. Run out of fuel and you're out of the race, so make sure to make a pit stop to switch racers.
Battle Race (2 players): Compete against other players to see who can cross the finish line first.
Chicken Run (2 players): Run down the road and stop as close to the edge as possible without falling off.
