In one of their strangest collaborations ever, Slipknot has teamed up with video game publisher Atlus to create a line of masks celebrating their upcoming game. Shin Megami Tensei V: Revenge.
In a video posted to YouTube yesterday (May 28), Atlas interviewed Jim Ojala, who has served as one of Slipknot's mask makers for the past five years. Ojala has helped bring many of Slipknot's past looks to life, including Clown's metallic mask in 2019 and Michael “Tortilla Man” Pfaff's mask.

Ojala detailed what the studio entailed in creating the masks: Atlus tasked the staff with creating masks of three demons featured in the game: Demon, Gururu, and Lou-Garuu. The designs were all fairly off-the-shelf for the team, as they were all very monstrous looking and fairly well-crafted for Slipknot masks.
There are many steps involved, from creating the initial plaster mold to painting and removing it from the mold. The final product is truly stunning and worthy of the SMT franchise and the Slipknot name.
