On Monday, shortly after the series finale, Skybound Entertainment announced a AAA video game in the popular Invincible series.
According to the announcement, upcoming AAA Invincible games will be developed by a new small in-house studio comprised of 30 gaming industry veterans and Invincible series creator Robert Kirtman. Considering the amount of popularity the series has gained over the past few years, it was only a matter of time before it got its own AAA video game.
To fund the game, Skybound announced a crowdfunding campaign on the Republic Investment Platform to secure investors. To date, the campaign has raised more than $440,000 and hopes to reach the $5 million cap. Skybound Entertainment CEO David Alpert shared his excitement at launching the crowdfunding campaign in his press release.
“We are excited to launch this Regulation crowdfunding campaign at Republic and invite fans to join us in this new expansion and adventure,” said Alpert. “At Skybound, we prioritize cultivating meaningful connections with our viewers, and this initiative allows fans to not only immerse themselves in his world of Invincible, but also directly contribute to its expansion.”
Skybound previously used Republic's platform in 2023, where it successfully raised approximately $18 million. The 2nd Republic campaign requires potential investors to invest a minimum of $100, but if they follow through and invest, they will receive various benefits. The Invincible crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to end by April 30th.
Since this game was recently announced, a release date is not imminent. However, considering that the Invincible Amazon Prime series has been renewed for his third season, it's not unreasonable to assume that the release date will be closer to or shortly after that season arrives.
