KCII News spoke with U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley about the Government Accountability Office and how some government agencies are not following cybersecurity recommendations. In the 1920s, they rose to power and prestige. They work for Congress, but not for the president, and their purpose is to research whatever Congress wants information on. So they looked at all the cybersecurity of all government agencies and came up with seven agencies that were not following the recommendations. Basically our question is when will we follow the recommendations as other government agencies are doing? In addition to urging administrators to close the recommendations, Grassley is also requesting records on each department's cybersecurity testing performance and cyberattack reporting and response procedures.
