LAKEWOOD — Fredonia and Olean could earn the top seeds in tennis from the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Athletic Association for the Section VI championships.
Fredonia's Jackson Spangler captured the CCAA singles crown with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Southwestern's Brayden Haaksma on Friday at the Lakewood YMCA.
Meanwhile, Olean's Isaac Moses and Cavan Boutilette won the doubles crown, defeating Maple Grove's Trey and Fletcher Demink 6-7, 6-2, 6-2.
Spangler defeated Alex Watkins (Southwestern) 6-0, 6-0 to advance to the championship match, and Haaksma upset Jack Shelley (Maple Grove) 6-0, 6-0 to advance to Spangler. qualified to compete against.
In the singles match, Watkins defeated Sherry 6-0, 6-1.
In doubles, Moses and Boutilette defeated Nathan Cresanti and Keegan Richelle (Maple Grove) 6-1, 6-0 in the semifinals and Deminx in the championship match.
Deminks defeated Orleans' Alex Ash West and Alex Linderman 6-0, 6-1 to earn a spot in the final.
In the repechage doubles match, Linderman and Ash West defeated Cresanti and Richelle 6-2, 6-4.
All CCAA singles players and doubles teams will advance to the Section VI tournament to be held May 22 at Orchard Park High School.
