We visited the Sea Otter Bike Festival in California and discovered some cool technology including new helmets, wheels, aero handlebars, and more.
Held near Monterey, California, the Sea Otter Classic is North America's largest bike show, with approximately 300+ brands showcasing their latest bike technology and gear to the cycling world each year.
This week Si Richardson heads there in search of the hottest bike technology. This is what he found…
New Vision SC45 and SC60 wheels
Vision's SC wheel series has received a major update thanks to trickle-down technology from its more upscale sibling, the Metron. The new SC45 and SC60 share the same aerodynamic profile as the Metron line, with improved construction throughout the wheel system to improve stability and performance longevity.

Vision Metron 5D ACR Evo Handlebar
These are modified versions of Vision's widely used Metron 5D ACR series bars that are ideal for integrated cabling. With this update, Vision has made changes to its internal routing paths, reducing 60g from the original weight. The ergonomic design has also been modified to accommodate two different lengths depending on your reach.
Sava Dream Maker Aero Road Bike
This was one of the most eye-catching bikes we found on the exhibition stand this year. German bicycle brand Sava showcased its new Dream Maker, which features an impressive integrated fork and bar specifically designed to improve the bike's aerodynamics.

Redshift Top Shelf Handlebar
Famous for its suspension stem and seatpost, this riser drop handlebar is designed primarily for comfort. It can be raised 50mm or 70mm and also has a more secure area to attach a bar bag, which I think is very neat.
New POC Procen Air Helmet
This is already quite familiar for the professional EF Education team since their early season racing debut. Now, it's officially released and has proven to be super fast in the world of pro cycling. No matter what opinion you have about how it looks, you can't argue with the results.
Prologo Nago R4 PAS 3D Printed Saddle and One Touch 3D Handlebar Tape
Prologo's first 3D printed saddle claims to be the lightest 3D printed saddle on the market, weighing just 149g. Also on display was some funky looking 3D printed bar tape. This bar tape features diamond-shaped, slightly raised tubes that aid grip and also provide shock absorption. While checking out the stands, See also took note of Tom Pidcock's new saddle.
Wolf Tooth 1x Aero Chainring and Headset
Wolf Tooth, a US-based company that already offers an impressive range of chainrings, has added a 1x Aero chainring with an 8-bolt fitting for SRAM to its offering.
New Rab cyclewear range
Legendary British outdoor clothing company Rab was showing off new technical cycling wear including a wind veil vest, ultra-light casual riding top and technical track jersey.
sage titanium bike
Sage has been selling titanium bikes for about 12 years and was selling the latest version of their gravel bikes with 3D printed titanium dropouts and chainstay yokes on the stand. And check out the amazing paint jobs that aren't actually paint. It's Cerakote, a ceramic-based powder coat that combines with the frame's titanium.
