San Marin suffered its first loss of the MCAL baseball season Thursday, 7-4, to Redwood, moving it into a tie for second place and heading into Novato's final week before the playoffs.
Anthony Shepler hit a home run and added three runs for the Mustangs, giving them five runs by the third inning. For the Mustangs, Matthew Bolding went 2-for-3 with two hits and an RBI, while Hugh Brady went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Rex Sole was 2-for-3 with two RBIs for the Giants (18-2, 12-1 MCAL).
San Marin and Novato, both 9-4 in league play, will meet in the final two games of the regular season on Tuesday and Thursday.
• San Domenico scored twice in the bottom of the eighth inning to outscore Urban 11-10 on Wednesday night at Albert Park. Oliver Bennett's base hit gave Matilda Hull the tying run. Bennett then stole second and third, then capitalized on a pickoff attempt at third base to score. Bennett finished the day with three hits at the plate and pitched four shutout innings on the mound, with Panthers Hank Figueroa, Alex Tavano and Colin Falconer each getting two hits.

Marin Academy defeated Peacock Gap University 153-180 on Thursday to finish the season undefeated as BCL West Champions. Dylan Siegel's even-par 36 paced the Wildcats (12-0), followed by Charlie Wilhelm's 37 and Charlie Hansen's 38.
• On Thursday, Redwood's Sam Sumsky shot a 31 at the Meadow Club and the Giants scored 188 points to defeat Marin Catholic (190 points) and Archie Williams (244 points). The Giants' Jack Mount and Brodie Root both had 38 RBIs. The Wildcats were led by Theo Anderson and Luca DeNunzio with 37 RBIs, while Asa Elder paced the Peregrine Falcons with 42 RBIs.

Redwood advanced to Saturday's MCAL final against Marin Catholic and then posted a thrilling 15-14 victory over San Marin in Wednesday's semifinals. For the Mustangs, senior Abby Brackett had six goals and one assist, while senior Ella Cameron and sophomore Alex Chamberlain each had two goals and one assist.
• Marin Academy defeated Rick Wilmerding 15-6 in the BCL West semifinals on Wednesday. Steph Zola led Marin Academy with four goals, while CeCe Dickinson and Sadie Goodenough each had three goals. The Wildcats (11-3) are scheduled to play University (7-8) in the championship game on Friday at Beech Chalet Field in San Francisco.

Top-seeded Redwood got 16 kills from Beckett Shuey and 27 assists from Auden Baker to defeat Terra Linda 25-17, 25-18, 25-17 in the MCal semifinals Wednesday night.
The Giants (16-5) defeated No. 2 Archie Williams 22-25, 27-25, 25-20, 25-20 in the final on Friday at 7 p.m. No. 3 Tam (16-16) I'm planning to play against. With Archie Williams.
Jack Earley added 10 points for the Giants. Charlie Jarman had six kills and Gavin Atherton had seven digs.
Preparing the athletics stadium
San Domenico's Joaquin Foster won Wednesday's 800 race, leading the Panthers to a fourth-place finish in final preparation for next week's Bay Area Conference Championship. At the event held at San Rafael High School, the Marine Academy boys placed seventh, while the college boys and girls topped their respective point standings. Athletes from San Rafael High School and Branson School also competed as guests.
Foster won the 800 with a time of 1:59.46 after running a 1:58 relay leg on San Domenico's winning 4×800 team. Sophomore Omar Williams set the bar high in his 300 hurdles debut, taking third place with a time of 44.18 seconds, breaking his school record.
Marine Academy's Daniel May was fifth in the 400 meters (53.58 points) and 10th in the 200 meters (24.47 points) behind Branson's Emmanuel Katz (24.46 points). The Wildcats' Max Duty placed third in the discus (99'6.5″) and sixth in the shot put (34'8.25″).
Branson's Jasper James ran a personal best in the mile (4:37.23) and took sixth place. San Rafael's Kishore Shah was fifth in the long jump (18 minutes, 10 seconds).
On the girls' side, San Domenico and Marin Academy finished in 7th and 8th place, respectively. Panthers freshman Petra Betti placed third in the 200 meters, fourth in the 100 meters and helped the team finish fifth in the 4×100 relay. Marine Academy freshman Tatum Colpitts set a new personal record for third place in the 400-meter run (1:02.64), just ahead of Branson's Imogen Brown (1:02.91). Zoe Hahn of the Bulls set a personal record for sixth place in the 400-meter dash (1:04.35) and fifth in the 800-meter dash (2:31.78). She also contributed to her second place finish in Branson's 4×400 her team. Marin Academy senior Carrie Zimmerman was fourth in the 100 hurdles (18.04 seconds).
In the women's high jump, Branson University's Tara Curtin hit the bar in 5:02, while Marin Academy junior Esme Morrison and San Domenico freshman Ripley Toquinto Tyson tied for second in 4:08. ) followed.
The BAC League Championship will be held on Saturday, May 4th at Chabot College.
