Cristiano Ronaldo was in tears after Al Nasr lost on penalties to Al Hilal in the Copa del Rey final late on Friday night, keeping them away from winning the trophy in Saudi Arabia.
The Portuguese superstar, whose arrival last year led to a flood of top players in the oil-run Saudi Professional League, collapsed to the ground as Al Hilal celebrated victory.
The 39-year-old Ronaldo then slowly walked off the pitch and sat on the bench in tears.
In a hard-fought match that saw three red cards, including one to Al Nasr's former Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina, Ayman Yahya scored in the 88th minute to cancel out an earlier strike from Al Hilal's Aleksandar Mitrovic.
However, Al Hilal won 5-4 on penalties to also win the Super Cup and Saudi Pro League, completing a Saudi treble with an unbeaten domestic record.
This season, Al Hilal have won a record 34 consecutive games in all competitions despite losing star player Neymar to an injury since October.
Al Nasr, who finished second in the league behind Al Hilal and were beaten in the Super Cup by the same team, once again missed out on participating despite Ronaldo's performance, who scored a professional league record 35 goals.
The only trophy he has won so far with the Riyadh club is last year's Arab Club Champions Cup.
Ronaldo's contract, which is said to earn him 400 million euros over two-and-a-half years, expires at the end of next season.
