The world of professional wrestling is strange and wonderful entertainment. In many ways, it's like an action-packed live-action movie, with the wrestlers performing all the stunts to Shakespeare's story and keeping the audience captivated until the final bell rings.
It's because of all of the above factors that we've enjoyed so many great professional wrestling video games over the years, spanning multiple generations. That being said, I've put together a tough list of the eight best pro wrestling games of all time.

RetroMania Wrestling (PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)
Retromania Pro Wrestling is a great indie game released in 2021 and considered to be a spiritual successor to classic arcade games. WWF Wrestlefest (I'll talk about that game later).
Developed by Retrosoft Studio, Retromania Pro Wrestling At launch, it comes with 19 playable characters, ranging from classic names to independent scene favorites like The Legion of Doom (aka Road Warriors), Nick Aldis, Matt Cardona (formerly known as Zack Ryder), and Zack Saber Jr. doing. a bit. It also had a fair amount of modes, with a branching story campaign, a tournament mode, a version of Royal Rumble, and more. This fascinating game is highly recommended.
WWE 2K14 (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360)
Released in 2013 and developed by Yukes. WWE 2K14 While not the first 2K Games entry on this list, this is the first game published entirely by 2K, which took over from the then-defunct THQ, now known as THQ Nordic.
Other than featuring high-octane gameplay, it probably has the following standout features: WWE 2K14 That mode is “30 Years of WrestleMania,” which brings together some of the best matches from over 30 years, including Randy Savage vs. Ted DiBiase Sargent. Slaughter vs. Hulk Hogan, Undertaker vs. Kane, etc. It also features a Beat 'The Streak' mode, which allows you to challenge The Undertaker's legendary WrestleMania win streak or beat the moment as Taker on a harder difficulty setting than what is considered the default. You can relive it. 2K started off a roaring start to WWE's run that lasted a decade and counting.
WCW/nWo Revenge (Nintendo 64)
It didn't matter if you were familiar with WCW or the faction then known as the nWo in 1998. WCW/nWo Revenge Because the N64 is a true cult classic and helps lay the foundation for things like: WWF WrestleMania 2000 and WWF No Mercywhich provided N64 gaming with a golden age of professional wrestling titles. WCW/nWo Revenge It had a fun but slow grappling system that set it apart from traditional arcade-style button mashing games. It had a rich set of characters for its time, great character customization, and a challenging arcade mode. If you own an N64, you should add this to your collection.
WWF SmackDown! 2: Know your role (Original PlayStation)
Unlike the N64 game released in 2000, WWF SmackDown! 2: Know your role It was all about fast-paced action and the glamor of the world of sports entertainment. It features a story mode with local multiplayer support, so you can always have fun playing with your siblings or friends. It's packed with unlockable items and features an improved Create-a-Superstar suite over its PS1 predecessor, allowing you to create move sets and taunts as well. And the stables. WWF SmackDown! 2: Know your role is so engraved in my heart that I can still hear the music of that title even as I type these words.
WWF Wrestlefest 1991 is one of my earliest memories of playing video games in an arcade. WWF Wrestlefest “Royal Rumble,'' where players run the gauntlet solo to eliminate competitors and claim victory, and “Royal Rumble,'' where players run the gauntlet solo to eliminate competitors and claim victory, and “Royal Rumble,'' which is a tag team gauntlet where the final battle is a title match against the Legion of Doom. There were two modes: Saturday Night Main Event.
“Royal Rumble” could be played with up to four players, and “Saturday Night's Main Event” could be played with two players. You could choose from his 10 characters, including Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and Mr. Perfect. My fondest memory is WWF Wrestlefest (Although it's a good thing for me at least), my autistic kid's brain casually walks up to an arcade machine, puts in 10p or 20p, and eliminates the kid playing Royal Rumble from start to finish. Did you? largely Until I ruined his day claiming victory. It's safe to say there were some tears, but they weren't mine. No regrets.
WWF SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain (PlayStation 2)
I had a hard time choosing just one from the PlayStation 2's WWE game library, but eventually settled on the 2003 game. WWF SmackDown!pain is coming. For that time, WWF SmackDown!pain is coming It features some of the best console graphics for a wrestling game, and a new grappling system that allows you to target selected body parts for damage, adding an added strategic element, especially when it comes to submission matches. It also marked the debut of Elimination Chamber and the raunchy match-type video game called Bras and Panties. Thankfully, the latter era is long gone. Still, with its great graphics, great story mode, and behind-the-scenes brawls, WWF SmackDown!pain is coming One of the best console wrestling games of all time.
WWF No Mercy (Nintendo 64)
we all knew that WWF No Mercy I ended up making this list, which was also a difficult choice because it was between this one and the one before it. WWF WrestleMania 2000,make WWF No Mercy The second N64 game on this list. WWF No Mercy Improved over its predecessor in almost every way. It had a great branching story mode, offering replay value, more detailed character creation, and improved graphics. The gameplay may not have evolved much compared to its predecessor, but the subtle improvements were well worth it. WWF No Mercy He is part of the upper echelon of N64 greats.
WWE 2K24 (PC, PlayStation, Xbox One)
This may seem like a controversial choice for me as the number one pro wrestling game, but look at it objectively and take off your nostalgic goggles and you might see why. WWE 2K24 Claim a spot at the top of the mountain. WWE 2K24 has the richest roster of over 200 playable characters, crushing most video games of any genre in that respect. Relive 40 years of WrestleMania with Showcase of the Immortals, a fun mode that builds on what came before. WWE 2K14. Includes his two campaigns for the characters you create, a Universe mode where you can book your dream matches, a general manager mode for competitive co-op play, his ever-evolving MyFACTION, and more.
in addition, WWE 2K24 It's a near-perfect recreation of a WWE Superstar, and not only does it look great, but the gameplay accommodates a variety of playstyles. Visual Concepts nailed it this year and set the bar high for next year. WWE 2K25. I'm looking forward to seeing how that contest goes.
That concludes my list of the best video games of all time. Also, I would like to particularly mention: AEW Fight Forever It just wasn't on my list.
