PlayStation is introducing a new feature that will allow players to accomplish certain feats in games without having to go to YouTube or read video game guide articles.
The update is called “Community Game Help,” and it generates “hints” from a player's gameplay that can be used to guide other players through specific puzzles or instances. You have to opt in to contribute to this, but you have to go about 6 menus deep to activate it, so it's a small percentage of the population, but once you do, something like this happens. Masu.
Your PS5 will automatically capture video when you complete certain in-game activities. It is then reviewed by moderators, and if approved by the moderators, it is published as a “Game Tip” where players can view it and rate whether it is helpful or not.
I joke that this will replace me and my writers and YouTube friends because we all get a huge amount of traffic and views from the guide (so much so that it supports the entire site and channel), but it's actually I don't think this is all that useful. Do you have a problem?
- It seems like games need to be designed around this feature so that the PS5 knows when to auto-record. So we expect this to be primarily for first-party games and not some other games.
- This is a completely new system, and most players won't even know it exists, much less need to opt in (to do so.[設定]>[キャプチャとブロードキャスト]>[キャプチャ]>[自動キャプチャ]>[コミュニティ ゲーム ヘルプ]). next,[参加]I choose (lol). Still, it's probably not as easy as quickly viewing a guide on your phone.
- Most importantly, this system purely You only upload game footage and nothing else. There is no microphone audio. So in a guide you just have to see what the player in question is doing without any explanation or detail you might find in guides elsewhere. In some cases that may work, but in other cases where deeper explanation is needed, simply watching someone do something on screen without greater context may not cut it.
I think this is kind of a nice feature from a technology perspective, but I'm not at all concerned about how it will affect my work.I many I'm more concerned about what Google is doing with search AI. Google may collect (steal) information from a dozen or so guides written on the Internet and print that information as its own on the search page. That's worse than anything PlayStation is doing here. But please use it as needed. I don't think it's useful that often.
