CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A local sports bar offering eight bowling lanes, arcade games and an event venue has announced it will close this summer.
The Alley in Charleston posted on Facebook that June 1 is its last day of business. It cited future hotel development by the property owner as a driving factor for the closure.
“It has been a true honor to serve this great Charleston community for over 12 years. Words cannot express how grateful we are to our incredibly supportive customers. We are deeply grateful to the outstanding and dedicated “Alley Family.” They have made this unique 17,000 square foot entertainment venue a welcoming place for everyone. ” The owners of the alley wrote on social media: “The genuine care and dedication of our staff is unparalleled and is the foundation of what makes this business so special. Our hope is that from the time you spend in our space, It leaves you with many positive memories and The Alley is a force for good.”
The post was posted just two hours ago, and the comments section is filled with Array visitors reminiscing about their memories of the store and expressing their sadness at the news of its closing. A Google reviewer gives The Alley 4.5 stars, saying the staff and games make for an enjoyable experience.
If you want to visit before it closes, The Alley offers $4 burgers on Thursdays and trivia game nights on Wednesdays.
