NORTH HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) — The Pittsburgh Riverhounds have announced plans to build a new sports complex with indoor and outdoor soccer fields in North Huntingdon, Westmoreland County.
The Riverhounds announced news about plans for the complex on its website Thursday, saying it will expand its reach and support other organizations in the community.
The new complex will span 42 acres of space just off Route 30 near Norwin Town Square Shopping Center and will feature an indoor soccer field and multiple outdoor soccer fields that can also be used for other sports.
“We've seen how things have flourished since the opening of the AHN Montour Sports Complex in Coraopolis, and we're thrilled to be able to continue that growth with our new facility in North Huntingdon,” said Riverhounds owner Tuffy Shallenberger. I couldn't be more excited about it.”
The facility will feature ample parking, outdoor field lighting, concessions, and bleachers on each field.
The Riverhounds have not said when the complex will be ready to open to the public.
