What college students are concerned about is money! They believe they are not well-educated on how to handle their personal finances and have a lot to worry about after graduation.
A recent survey conducted by WalletHub asked college students across the country about their financial beliefs and concerns.
Almost half of students say they are trying to make as much money as possible professionally and are worried about debt, rather than pursuing their passion.
The survey was conducted among over 210 university students. Nearly half of respondents say their schools do not adequately educate them about personal finance.
Peer pressure is also an important factor influencing students' financial decisions. 75% admitted to feeling pressured by colleagues to spend beyond their means.
And when it comes to life after graduation, students' biggest worries are not only finding a job, but also dealing with the burden of student loans and credit card debt.
This can leave many people feeling unprepared for the real world.
Christie Matherne, editor of WalletHub, says, “If you're scared, know that there are plenty of resources out there to help you learn about this every step of the way.” “If you graduate from college knowing nothing about personal finance, all you have to do is Google it and find resources.”

It is also important for college students to establish healthy financial habits, such as saving regularly and avoiding unnecessary expenses. If you can, start building an emergency fund now.
Unexpected expenses can occur at any time, but having a financial safety net can give you peace of mind and prevent you from accumulating debt in the future.
