San Antonio – A new paid training program has launched in San Antonio for people interested in entering the cybersecurity field.
The NukuDo program is designed to develop the highest quality cybersecurity professionals to meet the talent needs of businesses in and around San Antonio.
NukuDo offers candidates a six-month paid training program focused on cybersecurity.
“They participate in the program and while they're here they earn $4,000 a month plus full benefits,” NukuDo managing director Michael Blair said.
Blair said NukuDo will pay for the certification and refer the certification to business partners.
“When we place them with one of our business partners, they're essentially making $66,000 on a three-year contract,” Blair said.
NukuDo, a sister company of Singapore-based Red Alph, has opened a headquarters in downtown San Antonio, and the courses it offers will be held in the Rand Building.
“Not only are we helping the cybersecurity industry find talent that is so hard to find, hire, retain and retain, but we're changing people's lives in the process,” Blair said.
Greater: In the private sector, there are currently about 100 cybersecurity companies operating in the San Antonio and New Braunfels area, according to SATX.
Nukudo student Jaclyn Birkenstock is excited to be a part of the program.
“I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity Nukud has given me and look forward to the future it has in store for me,” Birkenstock said.
