Newcastle vs Everton live updates!
Full time: Newcastle 1-1 Everton
It was a thrilling finale as Newcastle created far too many chances but Everton were given the chance to get back into the game and almost won in the closing stages. That's a big point for the Toffees.
Calvert-Lewin scores from the penalty spot – Newcastle 1-1 Everton (88')
It's not the most convincing penalty I've ever seen, but Calvert-Lewin takes it and Dubravka gets a hand but can't save it. Calvert-Lewin's first Premier League goal since October came at a crucial time for Everton.
Dummett brings down Young to give Everton a penalty
Dummett dragged Young to the ground but was cleared by VAR. The referee turns to the monitor and you know what it means: a penalty for Everton.
What a permission from Mykolenko!
Barnes danced into the box and set up Isak to ensure he scored, but his shot from six yards was cleared over the line by Mykolenko. There are a lot of chances now on both sides.
James Garner almost hits the post
Everton almost equalized when James Garner turned and curled a low shot past Dubravka, but his shot bounced off the post. Everton are doing their best right now. 23 minutes left.
Newcastle appeared to be leading 2-0…but VAR ruled out Big Dan Byrne
Bruno connected with Isaac with a quick free-kick to put Everton in the lead, and Byrne scored from a cross. Wait a minute. VAR is checking whether Isak was offside when the free kick was taken. There is no goal.
Tarkowski almost scores…incredible own goal
Newcastle's corner kick was fired by Tarkowski and bounced off his own post. Everton's captain can laugh now, but that was very close to a ridiculous own goal.
Halftime: Newcastle 1-0 Everton
Newcastle dominated in the first half, with Isaac scoring and coming close to scoring, while Murphy also came close twice and Pickford made two big stops. Everton took their chances with Tarkowski and Doucoure and somehow they are still in this situation. It shouldn't be that way.
Big stop from Pickford to deny Murphy
Lewis Hall produced a great cross from the left to meet Murphy, but his powerful drive was saved by Pickford. Everton's goalkeeper saved it. At this point.
Isak shows his great composure to put the hosts ahead – Newcastle 1-0 Everton (15 minutes)
Isak pounced on a long ball that went over the top, outran Branthwaite and the Everton defense and curled into the far corner. Isak and Newcastle's incredible composure has rightfully taken the lead.
Isak hosts Everton in Newcastle's opening game
Newcastle took an early 1-0 lead at St James' Park when Alexander Isak dribbled his way through the Toffees defense and slotted the ball into the back of the net for his 16th goal of the season.
Tarkowski should score.
Oh, and that's a huge opportunity for Everton captain James Tarkowski. Dwight McNeil takes a free-kick, but Tarkowski heads it over the bar from close range and bursts into flames.
What a save from Pickford!
Newcastle run out of the blocks and Isak is free on the edge of the box and his shot is blocked, but the ball hits the in-form Harvey Barnes, who fires a shot over Jordan Pickford, but Everton The goalkeeper prevents this. Splendidly. The Sunderland player was booed by Newcastle fans every time he touched the ball, but on that occasion he outdid them.

Newcastle United highlights, team news
With so many injuries, Newcastle's options in the backfield are very limited and they should expect Craft, Byrne, Schall and Hall to start in the back four. Gordon had a great performance against West Ham but due to his suspension Barnes had to start out wide and Isak also led the line admirably.
OUT: Anthony Gordon (suspension), Sandro Tonali (suspension), Sven Botman (knee), Jamal Lascelles (knee), Callum Wilson (chest), Joelinton (thigh), Nick Pope (shoulder), Luis Miley (hip) | Asked by: Miguel Almiron (knee), Kieran Trippier (calf), Tino Libramento (ankle), Matt Targett (Achilles tendon)
Everton attention, team news
Dyche continues to swap bets with Calvert-Lewin, and the latter came off the bench to score against Bournemouth, so I think he deserves it, but it's all about who starts at the top for Everton. .
OUT: Dele Alli (groin), Lewis Dobbin (ankle), Arnaud Danjuma (ankle) | Asked by: Vitaly Mykolenko (illness)
