Officials say these scammers are calling people claiming they have a warrant out for their arrest for failing to appear for jury duty.
If you receive a call from someone spreading this message, authorities say you should hang up immediately. It also advises citizens not to answer questions or press any numbers they are asked to press.
Scammers may also impersonate law enforcement agencies through email. If you receive an email from a law enforcement agency but do not contact them, delete it immediately.
Avoid clicking on links, attachments, or other content contained in emails.
“Court officials and law enforcement will not call or email anyone regarding outstanding bench warrants related to jury duty,” the Hawaii Attorney's Office said in a press release.
