Laura Dorman officially opened the newly designated CHC Memorial Field at the New Richmond Youth Sports Association on Saturday morning in memory of her murdered sons. The boys' father, Chad Dorman, has been charged by prosecutors with the murder of his sons. His trial is scheduled to begin in July. Coach Dwayne Kuhn coached Clayton Dorman in baseball for three years. “I'm here today to show my love for these great kids, Clayton, Hunter and Chase,” Kuhn said, fighting back tears. The CHC Memorial Field flags will fly in center field, where they will join Clayton, Hunter and Chase's former baseball uniforms and watch over generations of young athletes for years to come. “These three boys had a deep love for each other and a love for baseball,” Kuhn said. “Today was not the day of tragedy. Instead, it was a day filled with the joy of kids celebrating and playing baseball,” said Christine Bennett, president of the New Richmond Youth Sports Association. It's great to see the kids having fun and playing and enjoying their new friends.” “This community has chosen to remember the Dorman boys for how they lived and not how they died,” Bennett continued. “Playing baseball is a great way to honor the boys. Let's get everybody out there and playing. We want everybody to get out there and play with our kids.” The New Richmond community in attendance at the ceremony reiterated their sentiment that the field will continue to live on as a corner of heaven with angels in the outfield. They also expressed hope that the healing power of the laughter and joy of the children playing on this field in the future will be able to overcome any evil that may have happened in the past within the community.
