New initiative partners with education technology vendors to address key cybersecurity challenges for schools and districts
A new collaboration between the University of California, Berkeley Long-Term Cybersecurity Center (CLTC) and the U.S. Department of Education (ED), called the Partnership to Advance Cybersecurity in Education (PACE), brings together education technology vendors and cybersecurity experts. To do. The move is to “improve the defensibility and resiliency of K-12 digital infrastructure,” according to a news release.in conjunction with the White House 2023 National Cybersecurity Strategythis effort will focus on how education technology tools manage personal and sensitive information such as student health, contact, financial, and disciplinary records.
This project will convene cybersecurity experts, edtech vendors, and edtech stakeholders at the PACE EdTech Summit in October 2024 to discuss “Cybersecurity in EdTech Products: The Benefits of Secure Design Principles.” We will discuss and chart a way forward to address the issue.
