Netflix has been expanding into video games for the past three years, and has announced 14 new game titles that will be joining its upcoming lineup.
Tales of the Shire: A Lord of the Ring game will be a mobile title exclusive to Netflix subscribers. Currently, the primary way to experience gaming on Netflix is through mobile, but the company announced last year that it had rolled out a beta version of its cloud gaming platform to select subscribers in the UK and Canada. The cloud system allows you to enjoy games on your computer or internet-connected TV.
According to the official logline: Tales of the Shire Players can become J.R.R. Tolkien's Hobbits Lord of the Ring Books. But battling orcs won't be your daily routine. The official description reads: “Make yourself comfortable on your front porch as you decorate your Hobbit hideout, tend to the gardens, fish in the crystal clear ponds, forage for wild fruits and herbs, and barter with the townsfolk,” reads the book. “Nurture relationships by cooking and sharing homemade meals with your fellow Hobbits. Relax in a place where the little things matter most, and help rally the community to earn Bywater village status.”
Three of Klei Entertainment's games will also be mobile exclusive. Laboratory rats, Don't starve togetherand RotwoodThe Case of the Golden Idol is based on an 18th century detective story, while Hearts and Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure is a casual game. Harmonium: The Musical is described as a “musical adventure” that combines interactive sign language, music and video.

Several new games based on Netflix originals are set to debut, including: A perfect match, Selling Sunset, Emily in Paris And new Too hot to touch And spinoffs Dragon Prince.
“We're building a portfolio of games that offers something for all of our members, whatever their tastes or moods,” the company wrote in a blog post.
The 14 new titles coming online bring the total game offering to nearly 100, at no extra cost to subscribers. The company did not provide detailed data on gameplay, but members of the senior management team continued to express confidence in pursuing gaming as a long-term strategic goal. In the first quarter, Netflix had nearly 270 million global subscribers.
