Vaughn Dalzell shares why he likes the Toledo Rockets to win the MAC Tournament.
MAC Conference Tournament: Toledo (+340)
The MAC Tournament is shaping up to be a three-team race between the top three seeds, Akron (+155), Ohio (+330) and Toledo (+340).
This year, Akron was the highest-rated MAC school at No. 127, followed by Toledo (137) and Ohio (152). But since February, Toledo has been the highest-ranked MAC team in that span, boasting the nation's 61st-ranked offense with the 29th-ranked 3-point offense (39.7%) and the 61st-ranked turnover rate (14.4%).Hit Bartolvik.
The Rockets won the MAC regular-season title outright or a share of it for the third year in a row, but failed to capture the conference title and an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Toledo has gotten that far, but it's not over yet, as they were eliminated in the second round two years in a row and missed out on the conference championship last season.
The Rockets' first-round opponent will be Kent State, which Toledo won twice this season by 14 and 15 points. The Rockets will face either Bowling Green or Central Michigan, where Toledo is looking for revenge, in the second round. Toledo canceled road games against both teams and won at home against Bowling Green by 16 points.
Toledo defeated Ohio both times and split with Akron. This will be one of two presumed title matches. I like Toledo's chances. Especially with favorite odds, as Akron has lost three of its last four games to end the regular season.
I'm playing the Toledo Rockets at +340 odds to win the MAC tournament on DraftKings, going down to +250.
