As part of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)'s annual Drone Safety Day, the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) Division of Aviation will host a free webinar focused on cybersecurity best practices for drone operators. . The session schedule is April 29th from 9am to 10amserving stakeholders in the government, nonprofit, business, and recreation sectors.

This webinar will be led by Noel Zamot, a decorated former Air Force cybersecurity expert and senior advisor to MassDOT Aeronautics. Mr. Zamot, who is also Managing Director of Atabey Group, has extensive experience in autonomous vehicles, AI, and advanced aviation policy and research.
Secretary of Transportation and CEO Monica Tibbits Nutt emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in the current technology landscape, saying, “Safety is a top priority for MassDOT, and we understand the nature of cyber threats. It is extremely important to protect yourself.”
Colleen D'Alessandro, Regional Administrator for the FAA New England Region, emphasized the importance of the webinar, stating, “Cybersecurity is a critical element of drone safety and essential for all drone operators in all sectors.” Ta.
MassDOT Aviation Director Jeff DeCarlo emphasized the urgency of strengthening cybersecurity measures in the aviation industry, stating: Criminals are exploiting rapid technological change, so we all need to know how to implement and update drone safety protocols. ”
As technology advances, cybersecurity threats to aviation are increasing. Zamot explained: “Cybersecurity threats are on the rise due to highly complex systems with advanced tools and adversarial threats. In this webinar, we will introduce a framework to ensure UAS mission success despite adversarial activity. We will discuss.”
