RESTON, Va., March 14, 2024 (Globe Newswire) — NanoBioFAB is a Frederick, Maryland-based small business that develops artificial intelligence (AI)-powered smart technology for telemedicine and personalized healthcare. We provide sensors and high-throughput technologies, and services. The company, which accelerates research and development in nanomaterials, was recently announced as the winning company proposing technology solutions at his two-day AFCEA International Emerging Technologies Conference.
The competition was held as part of AFCEA's inaugural TechNet Emergence conference, held March 11-12 in Reston, Virginia. Over two days, 14 companies pitched their technology in front of a panel of startup investment and venture capital experts.
Xiaonao Liu, CEO of NanoBioFAB, introduced his company and said, “We are at the forefront of AI-driven smart nano sensors, revolutionizing pathogen detection and early prediction of infection.” The company's technology implants sensors in wounds to detect gases emitted by bacteria and uses AI models to provide highly accurate warnings of potential infection, Liu said.
Although the scores were close, NanoBioFAB outperformed 13 other companies because its presentation demonstrated key success factors, said Anitha Raj, president of ARAR Technology and chair of AFCEA's technical committee. He said it was because he was there. “It was equipped with technology that is suitable for wound healing, which is one of the latest technologies using nanosensor technology,” Raj said.
Competitors had less than five minutes to pitch to the judges. The organization of the contest was supported by Big Idea CONNECTpreneur led by founder Mr. S. Tien Wong. The organization helps early-stage companies with many needs, from capital to workforce development, customers, vendors, partners, product development, marketing, and more.
Other pitch winners at TechNet Emergence include EarthGrid, which showcases technology solutions to dig tunnels faster, Hue Lens, which develops lenses to improve color vision, and BioSolution Designs, which creates tools for gene therapy research.
