Mark Skidmore appointed interim director of MSU Center for Local Government Finance and Policy Extension
Skidmore will serve in this interim role while a national search is conducted for a new coach.
Mark Skidmore has been named interim director of the Center for Local Government Finance and Policy Extension at Michigan State University. He succeeds Eric Scorsone, who was recently named executive director of the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service.
The Center for Local Government Finance and Policy was established in 2015 with the purpose of supporting Michigan's “local prosperity” by supporting efforts to efficiently deliver critical public services that protect the health, safety, and well-being of communities. Skidmore said he hopes to build on his predecessor's strong track record while MSU Extension searches for a permanent director.

Skidmore is also the Morris Chair in State and Local Government Finance and Policy. This position will engage in research, teaching, and extension focused on policy analysis that helps government agencies attract people and businesses to their communities and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of government services.
