The Edgewood City Council once again discussed the possibility of the city adopting an ordinance governing golf carts within the city limits. Currently, state law provides guidelines for golf carts, but some cities have enacted ordinances to enforce golf cart guidelines.
Attorney Frank Wichman created an ordinance that the City Council could consider for several weeks to consider whether to adopt it or follow state guidelines.
The City Council passed a resolution to adopt the Northern Kentucky Hazard Mitigation Plan and a city ordinance appointing Sergeant Jimmy Kleinest as interim police chief when Chief Brian Zerborg retires on April 1st.
Mr. Turborg has served as police chief since August 2019.

Fire/paramedic Capt. David Curtis was recognized at a special caucus meeting in Florence this week for his accomplishments in completing the Fire Academy Executive Officer Program.
The department also includes paramedic Andrew Robbins, paramedic Ali Ratcliffe, firefighter/paramedic Josh Hobbs, firefighter/paramedic Sam Reynolds, firefighter/paramedic Brady Murray, firefighter /Welcome paramedic Ethan Morris to the Florence Fire Department.
Mayor Julie Metzger Aubuchon also praised Arya Mehendra, an 8th grade student at St. Paul School in Florence, who won the WCPO Spelling Bee.
April has been declared Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Boone County Commissioners heard a presentation on the Northern Kentucky Hazard Mitigation Plan and an update from the Port Authority.
Commissioners also formally denied a request to amend the zoning map and change the concept development plan for approximately 3.2 acres in Boone County.
Two other applications seeking changes to approved concept development plans and one application providing an exemption from occupational license fees were also approved.
