This week it's budget, budget and more budget. Commissioners from Orange, Durham and Chatham counties, along with the Hillsborough Town Council, are holding budget-related work sessions and public hearings. No other local boards are meeting this week, with one exception: The Durham County Board of Education is meeting to continue its selection of a new superintendent.
Here's an overview of local government meetings happening this week in Durham, Orange and Chatham counties.
Orange County
of Hillsboro City Commission A budget workshop and public hearing will be held on Tuesday, May 28th at 7pm. Click here for the full agenda, which will also include a discussion of water and sewer rates.
Orange County Commissioner There are two budget-related meetings this week: the first a work session on Tuesday, May 28th, followed by a public hearing on Thursday, May 30th, both taking place at the Southern Human Services Center starting at 7pm. Click here for links to both agendas.
Chatham and Durham Counties
Chatham County Commissioner A budget work session is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29 at 9 a.m. Click here for a link to the agenda.
