Yes, the world needs not only the Bible, but also the Quran, Gita, Torah, Guru Granth Sahib, Book of Mormon, Tripitaka, and other books that guide individuals on their path of faith. Would you recommend reading other books? Probably not.
Admittedly, I haven't read much of this list cover to cover. However, I have studied different belief systems. Living in different cultures, I have witnessed the overlap of common themes similar to the Ten Commandments: caring for each other and respecting the earth and the universe. I believe that it is extremists with separate belief systems who indoctrinate through fear and misinformation with the aim of pitting people against each other.
What we don't need is a Bible imbued with American nationalism, one that ostensibly only celebrates America in the sense of “Come all you children, from everywhere.” “Be of service to others” — it means giving kindly to others, no matter where they come from.
I love Lee Greenwood's music and lyrics. But the collaboration with Donald Trump to sell Bibles appears to have been misguided. There are very few people I can think of who are less Christian, and even fewer who have brought as much hatred and division into the country and the world as Trump.
I am perplexed that the far right is demanding that elected tenants abide by a document that guides our democracy, yet tramples on the separation of church and state and the rights of others.

Build longer tables instead of higher walls to feed the hungry and create space for everyone. We will enjoy meals together, strangers will become friends, Christ will shatter walls, and false divisions will end.
So, yes, go buy religious books, and more importantly, read them. But guys, please don't link nationalism with Christianity or support false prophets in any way.
