The New Orleans Public Library and New Orleans Game Developers are teaming up to present a free, hands-on video game development workshop series for adults of all skill levels.
From coding to design, storytelling to sound, each Study Session workshop will be an opportunity to delve into a different topic led by local designers, with support from NOGD staff.
The next workshop will be held June 5 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Rosa F. Keller Library & Community Center (4300 S. Broad St.).

Pride Month: Celebrate Pride this month at the New Orleans Public Library with LGBTQIA+ resources, activities, events and more.
On June 6 at 5 p.m., Rutter Library will host a “Local Pride” author event with readings by five New Orleans-based authors: Nikki Umel, Daniel W. K. Lee, TQ Sims, Kirsten Renaud, and Ricky Laurentiis.
The library is located at 5120 St. Charles Ave.
On June 15 at 2 p.m., Frank Perez will be giving an author talk at the Main Library (219 Loyola Ave.) where he will take visitors on a leisurely journey through the LGBT+ history of the French Quarter.
The talk will be about what defines queer history in New Orleans, from the indigenous queerness of Bourbancha to gay carnival. Pérez's talk will focus on research for his latest book, “Rainbow Fleur de Lis: Essays on Queer New Orleans History.”

Oz for kids: June 5 at the Norman Mayer Library (3001 Gentilly Blvd.) and join comedic duo Lenny and Mabel as they travel down the yellow brick road to the Land of Oz, meeting all your favorite characters along the way.
Bright Star Touring Theatre's children's performance of “The Wizard of Oz” begins at 5 p.m.
Horses and History: The Buffalo Soldiers and their friends will visit the East New Orleans Regional Library (5641 Read Blvd.) at 10:30 a.m. June 7 to talk about “Horses and History for Kids.”
Families will have the opportunity to meet the soldiers and horses of the 9th and 10th (Horse) Cavalry Association outside the library (5641 Read Blvd.) and learn more about this non-profit military unit, which is committed to honoring and preserving the history, heritage and traditions of the Buffalo Soldiers, African-American men who served in the U.S. Cavalry.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library.
yoga: This summer, the library is partnering with YEAH!Yoga to host free, one-hour yoga classes for teens in the main library (219 Loyola Ave.).
The program is aimed at youth ages 11-18 and is sponsored by the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library. Yoga mats are provided and participants are entered into a raffle to win their own mat.
