Brandon Miller He may be a new business owner, but he's no newbie when it comes to ADAS calibration. Miller, who launched his own mobile ADAS calibration business in his hometown of Collinsville, Illinois, in 2023, has worked in ADAS calibration for local companies for many years as a technician and location manager, followed by several years in sales, technical support and on-site training for a glass distributor.

Number of bases: 1 unit, with 1 mobile unit
Production space: 2,500 sq. ft.
A big part of the job, Miller said, was educating businesses on the importance of implementing the recalibration.
“I've traveled around the country teaching people how to use the equipment and the responsibility of recalibrating it. Calibrations aren't just a revenue stream. ADAS are 100% a liability issue and need to be done properly and according to the manufacturer's specifications.”
During his years of travel, he gained both experience as an educator and in-depth knowledge of ADAS calibration equipment. However, he didn’t want to spend his whole life traveling, so in 2023, he decided to retire. Mirror ADAS Solution We then began providing our mobile ADAS calibration units to local auto repair shops.
Having worked in the field for years, Miller has experience using nearly every ADAS tool on the market, so when it came time to buy his own, he knew exactly what he wanted and who he wanted to work with.
he, LaunchTech USA Over the years, he has also helped design a unique 3-in-1 radar kit that is ideal for the company's mobile business.
Miller's experience in the ADAS market has shown that most packages are designed by sales executives with little to no hands-on refit experience. For customers, this means there are often only two or three packages to choose from, with little information about what the lower-end packages are missing. Miller said this puts pressure on customers to buy more than they need.
“The customer ends up buying the higher-end packages just to get the radar calibration done, only to realize within a year that they only need three or four of the 40 packages for their business. In the crash space, the main need for ADAS is radar recalibration after a crash repair.”
Passionate about research, development and design, Miller worked with Launch Tech USA to design and field test a 3-in-1 radar kit that, in Miller's words, “has everything you need and nothing you don't.”
Miller said for a business like his, this kit is better than anything else available in the field because it provides a starting point package with all the standard equipment a collision center uses every day, packaged in two carrying cases.
“The 3-in-1 Radar Kit is one of the few kits in the industry that allows you to perform all your radar recalibrations with just one stand. Other products require multiple stands – one specific for Honda, one specific for Toyota, and another for the Volkswagen blind spot, or Doppler radar. This kit has it all in one, which is very convenient.”
Miller said Launch Tech USA's scan tools offer similar versatility.
“For scan tools, I use the Launch Tech Throttle III, which is a professional-grade scan tool. I like how flexible it is. With the right accessories, you can add a four-channel oscilloscope, TPMS programmer, and battery tester to the scan tool. The SmartLink C is a very good J-Box for module programming as well.”
But Miller said one of his favorite aspects of using Launch Tech USA's tools is the seamless reporting.
“In terms of reporting, Launch Tech USA makes it so easy. I use Google Cloud for my business, so all the reports for my various clients are shared in different folders, and I can literally just open up Google Drive, drag and drop, and paste directly into the invoice and be done. That's my favorite part.”
Miller operates one unit out of a small rented space in addition to his mobile unit and is still building up his business, but is happy to be able to stop traveling and put down roots as a local businessman, helping the community by providing an essential service.
“It was something I'd really wanted to do for a long time. My dad really encouraged me to think more about having my own business instead of becoming a teacher. And then when he passed away about two years ago, that was the big push I needed to go out and make it happen.”
