Konami has released 13 minutes of gameplay footage of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
The video shows protagonist James Sunderland wandering the streets of Silent Hill, before entering and exploring Brookhaven Hospital.
It also depicts combat with a variety of monsters, including the game's iconic nurses.
The story ends with James meeting 12-year-old Laura, who runs away from James as the monster approaches.
The footage also seems to confirm previous reports that James has had a makeover to appear younger than he did in the remake's original trailer.
During Sony's State of Play presentation, it was announced that Silent Hill 2 will launch on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8, 2024.
The Bloober team recorded another message to accompany the gameplay footage, explaining just how important this project is to the team.
The studio explained that the transition from a fixed camera to a fully third-person camera was a “challenge”, but it allowed players to see a wider view of the world.
Players who pre-order the standard edition of the game will receive a Mila the dog mask and a Robbie the rabbit mask for their characters.
There will also be a deluxe version of the game, which will include a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, a Pyramid Head mask of James made from a pizza box, and two days early access to the game.
