The 150th Kentucky Derby will be held as the paddock fills up for the 2024 edition of the Run for the Roses. In the first round of this year's Triple Crown race, heavy favorite Fierceness comes to Churchill Downs, fresh off a 13 1/2-length victory in the Florida Derby at Gulfstream Park. Catalytic and Grand Mosa First, who ran second and third at Gulfstream, are in a nearly packed Derby field of 21 horses, both led by legendary trainer Bob Baffert. It's not something that comes. Mr. Baffert is still hanging in the stalls following his horse. 2021's first Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit failed a post-race drug test.
