It wouldn't be the college sports offseason without a transfer portal tracker.
The 2024 Women's Basketball Transfer Portal Tracker is sponsored by Three Notch'd Brewing. Three Notch'd has locations in Harrisonburg, Charlottesville, Richmond and Roanoke. Valley Collab House offers great beer in a great atmosphere.
Significant turnover on the women's basketball team is not expected, but anything is possible. There have already been some notable changes to the Dukes' roster.
addition
Ro Scott, Marshall, G – Scott led the Thundering Herd in scoring during the 2022-23 season. Although she only played six games in the 2023-24 season, she is considered a quality scorer in the Sun Belt. She will give JMU some offensive power. She has one year of eligibility left.
Zakiyah Stevenson, Ole Miss, G – Stephenson was a bench player at Ole Miss in 2023-24, which was his freshman season. She averaged just over 10 minutes per game and scored 2.6 points per game. The Virginia native and former top-100 player has a legitimate chance to crack JMU's rotation in 2024-2025. She could be the team's starting point guard.
departure
chloe starling, g – Sterling was one of JMU’s point guards in the 2023-24 season, leading the team with 87 assists. She had a high assist-to-turnover ratio and also showed flashes of scoring. There was hope among her fans that Sterling, her rising junior, would remain in Harrisonburg to finish out her career. She has the potential to develop into an all-conference player at the mid-major level.
Steph Oderkirk, Richmond, F – Ouderkirk will end his career at Richmond. She averaged 18 minutes per game as a role player for the Dukes in 2023-24, averaging 3.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.
