There are currently no openings for the U.S. Men's National Team Coach position. In June 2023, Gregg Berhalter's tenure extended until 2026 World Cup. But this is a sport, so change is not far off. If Berhalter doesn't get his way in this summer's Copa America, who knows what will happen heading into the 2026 World Cup. So it's interesting that another man, who had long been considered a possible natural fit for the role, said he didn't want the role. When asked about the job by co-host Jimmy Conrad on CBS Sports Golazo Network's podcast “Call it What You Want,” Jesse, the former Leeds manager and former manager of at least three Red Bull soccer teams, said:・Here's what Marsh said about this job:
“No, I don't want to do that job. By the way, this is our job to do, and even though I'm new to this media job, I'm doing this job because I want to continue to be a part of the game.” “As a fan of American Soccer, MLS, and everything else, I support what's going on in American Soccer. So when I do this, I try to give some insight into how I see things. That's true, but I have an opinion based on my experience, the players I know, and what I've watched. ”
“I don't think anything we've done as a podcast has really been that unfair. In fact, especially when we analyze players and how they're playing in Europe, we I think they've been pretty supportive and we want them to be successful.
“We're sitting from the analysis chair, but we're sitting from the fan chair. So we were able to see Christian Pulisic play great and Tyler Adams coming back. After the game. I saw an interview with Gio Reyna and saw how happy and smiling he looked.''

After being sacked by Leeds United near the end of the 2022-23 season, one possible next step for Marsh could have been to become coach of the United States men's national team. The 50-year-old former United States international has coached in Major League Soccer, the Bundesliga and the Premier League, as well as being an assistant with the USMNT, and has the experience to fit into the role. But, at least for now, he says otherwise.
However, even if Marsh is closing one door by sitting on the media side, he's definitely trying to open another. Along with his pod members, Marsh responded to: Comment from Greg Berhalter Some media outlets believe that Gio Reyna should not have joined the Concaf Nations League team.
