Sustainability and community impact
The tour operator was an early adopter of the United Nations Global Compact's Faster Progress initiative, which is based on the climate action and living wage pillars. It paid its first dividend since 2019.
We also raised $1.8 million for 50 community partners through the Intrepid Foundation and supported a record number of staff volunteer hours.
From a sustainability perspective, Intrepid has increased its carbon emissions and CO2 intensity per passenger compared to 2022. This is primarily due to changes in travel emissions modeling. The tour operator has created a science-based decarbonization roadmap to achieve his 2035 goals.
Towards 2024
As travel companies look to the year ahead, the key word is growth. Intrepid recently expanded its young adult tour offerings, launched new itineraries and changed its age range for travelers ages 18-35.
