The Delta SkyMiles program offers members an easy way to earn and redeem rewards. After all, there's nothing better than getting a “free” flight using the miles you earn from flying, using your travel credit card, or both.
Even better, the airline offers underrated perks exclusively to select cardholders. It's called TakeOff 15, which gives you 15% off your SkyMiles ticket redemption. There appears to be no limit to this benefit. So the more you redeem, the more miles you'll save on your travels over time.
Let's take a look at the basics of this perk discount available to Delta cardholders.
TakeOff 15 is only available to customers with the following Delta Amex cards:
- Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card: Earn 40,000 bonus miles when you spend $2,000 on your new card within your first six months of cardmembership. The annual fee is $0 for the first year and $150 thereafter (see Rates and Fees).
- Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card: Earn 50,000 bonus miles after you spend $3,000 on your new card within your first six months of cardmembership. Annual fee is $350 (see rates and fees).
- Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card: Earn 60,000 bonus miles after you spend $5,000 on your new card within your first six months of cardmembership. Annual membership fee is $650 (see rates and fees).
- Delta SkyMiles® Gold Business American Express Card: Earn 55,000 bonus miles after you spend $4,000 on your new card within your first six months of cardmembership. The annual fee is $0 for the first year and $150 thereafter (see Rates and Fees).

If you have one of these cards, make sure it's properly linked to your Delta SkyMiles profile. To do this, visit the Delta website or the Delta app, go to My Wallet, and add your card to the Saved Payment Methods section.
Now, whenever you search for a flight to redeem SkyMiles on Delta's website (or app), you'll see the 15% discount automatically applied. This discount applies only to Delta and Delta Connection operated flights. Partner airline tickets are not eligible for discounts. Remaining taxes and fees must be paid with the same Delta card at checkout.
As you can see, the discount can be applied to any Delta fare class: Basic Economy, Main Cabin, Comfort+, or First Class. In this example, a round-trip flight from New York – LaGuardia (LGA) to Nashville (BNA) in the main cabin would normally cost 16,000 SkyMiles plus $12 in taxes and fees, but eligible cardholders requires only 13,600 SkyMiles.
If you need some travel inspiration, check out Delta's SkyMiles deals page. You'll be able to visit all the great destinations you can visit from your home airport, and of course, enjoy his 15% discount on Delta-operated flights.
This benefit is one of our favorite ways to save your hard-earned SkyMiles on CNN Underscored. The Delta SkyMiles® Gold American Express Card has an annual fee of $0 for the first year and $150 thereafter, making it the cheapest option for taking advantage of TakeOff 15 benefits. The card also offers a free first checked bag and the ability to earn $200 in Delta flight credits each year after he spends $10,000 in a calendar year.
The Delta SkyMiles® Platinum American Express Card has a $350 annual fee but comes with several annual statement credits, including up to $150 on Delta stays and up to $120 on U.S. rideshare purchases. Masu. It's also a great option if you want to earn Delta Elite status with the chance to earn Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) and annual companion certificates.

Delta has been criticized for years for devaluing its SkyMiles program, but the Takeoff 15 benefits make up for some of the lost value here. And if you have flexibility with your travel dates, you can use Delta's flexible fare calendar to find the cheapest dates with the fewest miles possible.
