CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. — In Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport's busiest year for international travel on record, how is Customs and Border Protection dealing with the increase in people?
Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is expected to break international travel records this year.

Customs and Border Protection gave Channel 2's Michael Doudna Let's take an inside look at how they're trying to deal with the influx of people.
Hartsfield-Jackson expects more than 6 million international travelers to use the airport this fiscal year, a 23% increase from 2023, Border Patrol officials said.
“While CBP has always been at the forefront of technology and innovation, we understand that the focus of our mission cannot change.” Said Mr. Carlo Cortina, CBP Assistant Director of Ports.
The main technology is facial recognition.
Airports use multiple services, from kiosks to free mobile apps, to allow users to submit photos to Border Patrol agents before they arrive.
This technology allows officers to focus on immigration rather than checking documents.

“What we're streamlining is document verification; what we're talking about is identity verification. This allows officers to hone their law enforcement skills,” Cortina said.
Even if travelers aren't using the app or kiosk, if they've traveled before, border officials can pull up old photos and compare them in real time.
