Harrisburg University of Science and Technology is now NCenter for Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD).
The National Security Agency and Cyber Command designation identifies agencies that are committed to developing cybersecurity professionals with the knowledge to reduce risks to the nation's digital infrastructure.
HU said it will compete for the Department of Defense Cybersecurity Scholarship Program grant, which will give students access to professional development resources for faculty along with grants, scholarships and internship opportunities.
HU said the Master's degree in Computer Information Science is a study program verified by the NSA.

Schools seeking to become NSA-accredited CAE institutions undergo an extensive program validation process. Demonstrate that relevant courses address NSA requirements, objectives, and priorities. and meet high academic standards.
According to HU, federal employers often give preferential or exclusive consideration to students studying computer science, systems engineering, and cybersecurity at NSA-vetted CAE-CD community institutions. Through our partnership with NSA, HU continues to support students' academic, research, and career-building experiences.
