Haason Reddick was born in the Philadelphia suburb of Camden, New Jersey, played his college football at Philadelphia's Temple, and spent his final two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now he is saying goodbye.
Redick, who was traded to the Jets, posted a farewell message on social media.
“Dear Philadelphians, the word 'thank you' is not enough to express my gratitude for the love and support you have shown me during my time as an Eagle,” Reddick wrote. “Dear Bird Gang, it was an honor to play for you, as your love for the game and the city is a remarkable feat. To my teammates and forever brothers. We look forward to new challenges and to our team on and off the field. We will never break the bond of friendship. To the Eagles organization, thank you for the opportunity to play in my hometown. This was a dream for any kid growing up in Camden. To my family, you are my is the backbone of my life. Without you, I would never have been able to achieve my dreams. Excited for New York and Gang Green, the next step in this journey. Can't wait to get to work. not!”
The Jets traded a second- or third-round 2026 draft pick, depending on the meeting incentive for Redick, a player the Eagles thought they would release to avoid paying his $14.25 million base salary. He had to pay a high price to acquire it. They're buying into Redick as they look to do their best for what could be Aaron Rodgers' final season, and Redick is a player they hope will be a difference-maker.
