The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab) is proud to announce a significant expansion of its membership. More than 100 prominent public and private organizations are currently working together to accelerate climate finance innovation and drive private investment in emerging markets.
Lab membership has nearly quadrupled in 10 years, from 29 organizations at the first Lab meeting in 2014 to 110 global and regional members today. Over the years, private sector participation in the Institute has steadily increased, with private members now accounting for 55% of the total, compared to 41% in 2014.
This growth is due to the Institute's successful launch of regional programs in the Philippines, Latin America, and the Caribbean. New regional committee members from these regions join a growing network of experts across existing programs in Brazil, East Africa, Southern Africa, and India. Additionally, the Lab welcomes new global members to strengthen its ability to identify and develop innovative financial products.
“We need to propose bold ideas and support teams in pursuing them. As a new global member, we are very pleased to have supported that selection process. Laboratory 10th group And to contribute to the development of these great teams and initiatives. “The spirit of cooperation among our members is proving to be a powerful force in tackling climate change.” Elvira Lefting, Managing Director, Finance in Motion.
The majority of the Lab's portfolio mobilization, which currently exceeds US$4 billion, is the result of direct investments from its diverse members and broader network. Through collaborative efforts, the Institute continues to develop new opportunities and scale impactful climate finance initiatives globally.
“The Lab's membership is a core driver of the Lab's success. Our member institutions bring a wealth of expertise, dedicated support, and financial capital to the table to foster sustainable investments in emerging markets. We are strengthening our laboratory capabilities.” Ben Brochet, Associate Director of the Climate Policy Initiative, said: The person who leads the laboratory's efforts.
