The transfer portal has been closed and no more players can enroll, but players remaining in the portal are still trying to find a new school. Georgia Tech has taken a defensive-focused approach to the portal this offseason, with the Yellow Jackets signing departing former five-star recruit Jacoby Matthews, according to Hayes Forcett of On3 Sports. It is said that it was one of 12 schools that contacted the top management regarding safe transfers. Texas A&M.
Matthews is one of the top players still in the portal, but is highly sought after. He would be a great addition to Georgia Tech's secondary, but it's unclear what interest he actually has in Georgia Tech. When he first entered the portal, Oregon and Florida State were rumored to be top options, but he hasn't committed anywhere.
Georgia Tech is also reportedly in contact with another safety in the transfer portal, Miami's Savion Riley, according to 247Sports.
We'll have to see if Georgia Tech wants to add more through the transfer portal with the window closed, but there's still a chance they could add talent in the coming weeks.
